The Musine Kokalari Institute for Social Policies condemns the attacks made in recent days within the public debate space against Ms. Ganimete Musliu, Member of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.

Not for the first time, MP Musliu has faced gender-based and personal insults, as well as bullying, which reveal cultural racism against a specific region of Kosovo from which Ms. Musliu originates.

The lynching reactions against Ms. Musliu, mainly carried out through social media by supporters of the current political power in Kosovo, should be unacceptable to everyone, beyond any differences of any kind.

Politics should contribute to the development of a more emancipatory language aimed at combating such levels of hostility in public debate, as well as at reducing existing divisions within society.
