CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
BECOME PART OF THE SECOND GENERATION
ACADEMY FOR PUBLIC AND SOCIAL POLICIES
14–18 November 2022
The Musine Kokalari Institute for Social Policies announces the call for applications for the Academy of Public and Social Policies, which will be held at Hotel Sirius in Pristina (Kosovo) from November 14 to November 18, 2022.
Over the course of one week, you will have the opportunity to attend modules led by distinguished lecturers, researchers, specialists, and professors from Kosovo, the region, and EU countries.
The Academy for Public and Social Policies program combines theoretical lectures and practical training, accompanied by collective discussions, workshops on specific topics, as well as social and cultural activities.
The Academy program includes modules on the following topics:
- Nation, nationalism, ethnicity, statehood, and citizenship
- National myths and definitions of statehood
- Political ideologies
- Equality and inclusion
- Public, social, and environmental policies
The general goal of the Academy is to educate young people with progressive ideas about social values such as social justice, anti-discrimination, citizenship, freedom of expression, gender equality, anti-racism, workers’ rights, and more.
The Academy for Public and Social Policies is organized with the support of the Olof Palme International Center.
All expenses related to participation in the Academy will be covered by the Musine Kokalari Institute, including participants’ travel, translation into Albanian and Serbian, meals, and beverages.
Knowledge of the English language is an advantage.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Thirty participants will be selected for the Academy. Applications from girls and women, as well as applicants from non-majority communities in Kosovo, are encouraged.
You can apply to the Academy if:
- You are 18–25 years old;
- You are currently studying or have graduated in one of the following fields: politics, sociology, philosophy, economics, law, journalism, or other related fields connected to public and social policies;
- You have basic knowledge of and interest in public and political issues.
You are invited to submit the following application documents:

SELECTION PROCESS
The candidate selection process consists of two phases. During the first phase, candidates will be shortlisted based on their CV and motivation letter. Pre-qualified candidates will then be invited for an interview.
Selected participants who complete the entire Academy program will receive a certificate of participation.
