The Institute for Social Policy Musine Kokalari presents findings from the monitoring of the Kosovo Assembly’s work related to the social sector legislative agenda for the fall session of 2023. The data was gathered from the Kosovo Assembly calendar, minutes of committees and parliamentary sessions, as well as from monitoring the Kosovo Assembly website regarding the legislative process of draft laws.
The stagnation in the implementation of the legislative agenda from 2022 and 2023 presents a concerning situation. Discussions on laws regulating important aspects of the social sector are often unimplemented or removed from the agenda.
This slow pace in passing legislation highlights the lack of progress and commitment to addressing urgent social issues. The Assembly’s priority should be updating and approving laws to ensure a just and equal society, promptly addressing social sector matters.
