The initial publication of Le Monde Diplomatique in Albanian was supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) in Kosovo. The new website has been realised with the support of the Embassy of France in Kosovo.
Le Monde Diplomatique – Shqip is the Albanian-language licensed edition of the renowned French monthly Le Monde Diplomatique. The Albanian edition, with its own dedicated editorial team, is produced by the Institute for Social Policy Musine Kokalari in Pristina.
Le Monde Diplomatique in the Albanian language, part of a global network of around thirty publication partners, launched its first print edition in September 2019, distributed in Kosovo and Albania, followed by seven additional issues published between October 2019 and May 2020. The project now continues online.
Since then, hundreds of articles have been produced and translated in Le Monde Diplomatique – Albanian, addressing regional topics and global issues, with several republished by local media and by the Balkan press.
