The negotiators were there — some represented Serbia, others Kosovo. Two facilitators guided the discussions, and in the end, a symbolic agreement was reached.
Over the course of two days, young Albanians and Serbs from Kosovo, divided into mixed delegations, debated, negotiated, and jointly simulated the dialogue process for normalizing relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
On the first day, participants reviewed official documents and developed their negotiation positions and strategies.
On the second day, they engaged in bilateral and trilateral negotiations, culminating in the drafting of a framework for an implementation agreement.
This workshop proved to be a valuable tool for:
• Encouraging cooperation and mutual understanding among future policymakers
• Enhancing debate and negotiation skills
• Building sensitivity toward diverse perspectives
• Addressing real and complex challenges
• Gaining deeper insight into the normalization process
• Proposing concrete solutions within the dialogue framework
The workshop was organized by the Institute for Social Policy “Musine Kokalari” and New Social Initiative – Nova društvena inicijativa, as part of the 𝐷𝑖𝑎𝑙𝑜𝑔𝑢𝑒, 𝑆𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠, 𝐹𝑢𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑒 project, supported by the Auswärtiges Amt and the National Endowment for Democracy.
