Disciplinary measure against Prindon Sadriu – The President should publicly oppose denigrating language against the media

Attacks and denigrations against the media and journalists by state officials are intensifying every day, taking the form of an organized campaign of denigration. These attacks are unacceptable and very harmful to our democracy.

Instead of condemning this language, representatives of the executive power and ruling political parties are increasing their use of lynching language against the media and journalists.

The Institute for Social Policies Musine Kokalari calls on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, as well as the Ministry of Kosovo Security Force of the Republic of Kosovo, to take disciplinary measures against Mr. Prindon Sadriu, an official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a reserve officer in the Kosovo Security Force, due to his public denigrating attacks against the media and journalists, calling them a “joint criminal enterprise”.

We also call on the leaders of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, especially the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Ms. Vjosa Osmani, to clearly speak out against this language and in defense of the free media and journalists. Mr. Sadriu has engaged in extremely severe verbal attacks against all media outlets indiscriminately due to their reporting related to President Vjosa Osmani. Therefore, this matter also becomes personal.
