The conference “Kosovo-Serbia: A Different Approach” shapes several alternative narratives to the current dominant discourse.

On Friday, the Institute for Social Policies “Musine Kokalari” from Prishtina, in cooperation with the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory from Belgrade, held the conference: “Kosovo-Serbia: A Different Approach.”

Jellena Vasiljević, Dukagjin Gorani, Aleksandar Pavlović, Gëzim Krasniqi, Visar Ymeri, Filip Ballunović, Besfort Kosova, and Belgzim Kamberi held discussions in Belgrade on the topics: “Reconstructing the Other and Citizenship” and “Economy and Environment”.

During the discussions, several alternative narratives to the current dominant discourse in the respective fields were raised. The possibilities of common issues in topics that provoke social antagonisms and models for building citizenship were addressed, along with the economic policies needed to develop future relations and the necessary environmental policies.

The next conference will be held in Prishtina, where other topics will be addressed before they are published in writing in a collection of essays.

The conference “Kosovo-Serbia: A Different Approach,” made possible by the “Olof Palme International Center,” is the first phase of the project: “Perpetual Peace and Social Justice in the Balkans: Non-Ethnic Perspectives on Regional Relations and Cooperation between Kosovo and Serbia”.
