Representatives of the Musine Kokalari Institute for Social Policy participated in the third edition of the Engaged Democracy Convention, held this year in Skopje, from May 21 to 23, 2025, under the theme “Engage, Inspire, Empower!”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During three days of debates, workshops, and networking, activists, journalists, researchers, artists, and civil society representatives from across the Western Balkans gathered to jointly address the topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

environment<\/p>\n\n\n\n

public space<\/p>\n\n\n\n

media<\/p>\n\n\n\n

decent work and civic rights<\/p>\n\n\n\n

mental health<\/p>\n\n\n\n

digital security<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and the rise of anti-gender movements<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visar Ymeri, Executive Director of the Musine Kokalari Institute, served as co-moderator of the thematic workshop on decent work, where participants discussed the challenges and opportunities for regional cooperation in protecting workers\u2019 rights in an increasingly uncertain economic and social context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Convention once again demonstrated that democracy is built collectively \u2013 through the exchange of ideas, cross-border solidarity, and the will to create a fairer and more inclusive society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
