The lists submitted on Saturday evening show that most political parties have ensured compliance only with the minimal threshold set strictly by the General Elections Law, rather than fully implementing Law No. 05\/L-020 on Gender Equality.<\/p>\n\n
For the Institute for Social Policies \u201cMusine Kokalari,\u201d the failure to respect legislation that promotes gender equality indicates that political parties\u2014regardless of which one gains the mandate to lead the country\u2014will not place women equally in governance. This practice also reflects the level of seriousness of the promises made in the last legislature regarding the implementation of gender equality in all proposals and public functions in Kosovo.<\/p>\n\n
The table below shows the total number of candidates, the proposed number of men and women, and the representation of both genders expressed in percentages.<\/p>\n\n
<\/p>\n\n The table has been compiled based on announcements on social media by political parties and does not include other political parties that have not published their lists.<\/p>\n\n In these elections, the Institute for Social Policies will closely monitor the electoral process.
