Although LGBTQIA+ individuals are protected by law and international rights, this community enjoys significantly fewer opportunities in society, experiences considerably more physical, psychological, and economic violence, and continues to be treated unfairly by the state. Gender identity and sexual orientation must never be targets of collective and institutional discrimination.
