Workshop with community candidates for the municipal assembly in Prizren

As part of the activity Advocacy Sessions with Assembly Members and Political Parties, on September 29, 2025, in the Municipality of Prizren, the Musine Kokalari Institute for Social Policy organized the training “Advocacy and Political Engagement.”

The training brought together assembly candidates and members from the Turkish, Bosniak, and Albanian communities, as well as representatives of civil society.

Lecturers included Fisnik Rexhepi, who presented on the legal framework and the competencies of assembly members, and Senad Sabovic, who spoke about the importance of communication with citizens and the use of social media for campaigning and public engagement.

In addition to the lecture sessions, participants engaged in practical exercises and group discussions, where they exchanged experiences, analyzed concrete challenges of representation and communication, and proposed more effective ways of engaging with citizens. The exercises focused on strengthening public communication skills and the use of digital channels to enhance transparency and public trust.

The purpose of organizing this workshop was to develop communication, empathy, and cooperative planning skills among assembly members and diverse ethnic groups.

This activity was implemented within the framework of the project “Fostering Political Dialogue on Inter-Ethnic and Social Cohesion”, supported by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and carried out by the Musine Kokalari Institute for Social Policy.
