As part of the activity Advocacy Sessions with Assembly Members and Political Parties, on September 30, 2025, in Gjilan, the Institute for Social Policy Musine Kokalari organized a workshop on the topic “Advocacy and Political Engagement.”
The workshop brought together assembly candidates and members from the Serbian community of the municipalities of Klokot, Partesh and Ranillug.
Lecturers included Fisnik Rexhepi, who presented on the legal framework and the competencies of assembly members, and Senad Sabović, who spoke about the importance of communication with citizens and the use of social media for campaigning and public engagement.
In addition to the lectures, participants engaged in practical exercises and group discussions, where they exchanged experiences, analyzed concrete challenges of representation and communication, and proposed more effective ways to engage with citizens. The exercises focused on strengthening public communication skills and the use of digital channels to increase transparency and public trust.
The aim of the workshop was to develop communication, empathy, and cooperative planning skills among assembly members and diverse ethnic groups.
This activity was carried out within the framework of the project “Promoting Political Dialogue on Interethnic and Social Cohesion,” supported by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and implemented by the Institute for Social Policy Musine Kokalari.
