ACADEMY FOR PUBLIC AND SOCIAL POLICIES

The Musine Kokalari Institute for Social Policy opens the call for applications for the Academy of Public and Social Policy.
The 2023 Academy will be held at Hotel Nartel in Prishtina (Kosovo) from July 10 to July 14, 2023.
During one week, you will have the opportunity to attend modules led by lecturers, researchers, specialists, and distinguished professors from Kosovo, the region, and the European Union.
The Public and Social Policy Academy program combines theoretical lectures and practical training, accompanied by collective discussions, workshops on specific topics, as well as social and cultural activities.

The Academy program includes modules on the following topics:
- Nation, national myths, ethnicity, statehood and citizenship
- Political ideologies
- Equality and inclusion
- Evironment
- Public & social policies / Economic development models
The overall goal of the Academy is to educate and train young people with progressive ideas about social values such as social justice, anti-discrimination, citizenship, freedom of expression, gender equality, anti-racism, workers’ rights, etc., so that they gain more skills to be active in the public sphere concerning social and political issues.
The Academy for Public and Social Policies is organized with the support of the Olof Palme International Center, the Swedish Embassy, the Community Development Fund, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, and the Heinrich Böll Stiftung.
All expenses related to participation in the Academy will be covered by the Musine Kokalari Institute, including participants’ travel, meals, and drinks. For participants from outside Prishtina, accommodation costs will also be covered. Translation services into Albanian and Serbian will be provided.
WHO CAN APPLY?
For the Academy, 30 participants will be selected. Applications from girls and women, as well as applicants from non-majority communities in Kosovo, are encouraged. Priority will be given to candidates with knowledge of the English language.
You can apply to the Academy if you:
- You are 18-28 years old;
- Are you studying or have you graduated in one of the following fields: politics, sociology, philosophy, economics, law, journalism and other similar fields related to public and social policy;
- You have basic knowledge and interest in public and political issues.

SELECTION
The candidate selection process consists of two phases. During the first phase, candidates will be pre-selected based on their CV and motivation letter. Qualified candidates will be invited for an interview. The purpose of the interview is to get to know the participants better.
Selected participants who complete the Academy in its entirety will receive a certificate of successful completion of this program.
